I'ts great news that the sale in Ashburton didn't go ahead, but that is not the only place that bottled water in New Zealand is an issue! In an article on Stuff it talks about how "global beverage giants have been quietly bottling New Zealand's water for years."

Not only is the amount of water in the bottle used for drinking but it takes any where from 3 to 5 times that amount to actually produce the bottle itself.Also the quality of bottled water is not necessarily any better than tap water.And some still have BPA in the plastic.

If you bought 2 bottles of water a week for 5 years that would be 500 plastic bottles that are either recycled or dumped.

That is one reason it is beneficial to have a dedicated water filter to save on this waste.
By having a quality filter that uses multistage filtering you have got rid of most impurities and chemicals.
But that is only half the story! Then the ideal is to add healthy minerals back into the water so it is close to the way that the cleanest water is in nature when  it flows over rocks.This is then good for your health and body and coupled with a good diet you will feel the benefits.

​if you are like me, that nice cool glass of water isn't quite so attractive at the moment and the winter weather makes you want to peg out and have those things that you know are unhealthy.
So if you are up to making a nice warm delicious soup you can help your health by adding good water to that and to any veges you cook for dinner. So that can boost your immune system and contribute to keeping away the winter ills.
Try to keep up the water though if you can, as it is good for you, as I'm sure you know. You can even have a cup of hot water.

Home made vegetable  soup is great for a cold winter night, great for your health and tastes delicious

Heat oil in a large soup or stock pot. Add veggies. Heat, stirring, for 3-4 minutes, until onions are soft. Add the rest of the vegetables and heat for just another minute or two.
Add salt, pepper, garlic, thyme and oregano, stirring to coat the vegetables well.
Add water and tomatoes, bring to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes.
